   About Us

RECHARGE INDIA, is a monthly trade magazine committed to create awareness about the imaging industry aftermarket in India. Powered by U.S. based Recharger Magazine, Recharge India was launched on August 15, 2007. It is a leading imaging supplies aftermarket publication, providing technical insights and market information about aftermarket products both within India and abroad.
Recharge India also holds annual trade shows and industry events. ReIndia Expo, which is a flagship of Recharge India, is the leading trade show in the imaging supplies after market. The fourth season ReIndia Expo 2011 was recently held in New Delhi, February 25-26 at the NSIC Exhibition Centre in Okhala. The two-day show brought the remanufacturing world together, with exhibitors and attendees representing the truly global aftermarket. The exhibition also sent out an important message regarding the need of environmentally sustainable products and business practices.
The consumable industry in India is pegged at Rs 5000 crore with big MNCs like LG, Toshiba, Mitsubishi and Canon getting involved in the remanufacturing industry.
The focus of the Expo remains the promotion of the remanufacturing industry. Remanufacturing of printer cartridges is an ecologically-sound option where the cartridges are not discarded but recycled or remanufactured for continued use. This measure further prevents the cartridges to land up in landfills and become a part of hazardous e-waste containing non-degradable heavy metals like lead, mercury and cadmium. As per International Resource Group’s (IRG) estimates, India generates about 1,46,180 tons of e-waste every year.

The role that the remanufacturing industry plays in the area of environment protection can be seen from the fact that each time a consumer discards an empty cartridge, it ends up either in a landfill or is dumped in an under-developed country. It takes anywhere from three hundred to one thousand years for a cartridge to break down in a landfill.

Apart from addressing the issue of sustainability, remanufacturing helps in cutting costs of businesses and individual consumers as a remanufactured cartridge comes only at a fraction of the price for a new cartridge. Remanufactured cartridges provide a purchasing option that is good for the environment and the consumer.  With a wide scope for exports, the largely unorganized remaufacturing sector in India can really grow with government support

One of the major highlights of ReIndia 2011 was the inaugural Recharge India Magazine Readers Choice Awards ceremony. Held February 25 at Hotel Crowne Plaza, New Delhi, the winners of the Recharge India Readers Choice Awards were acknowledged and awarded in front of industry leaders who came together for a night of food, drinks and camaraderie. The awards recognized the companies and individuals who have helped foster advancements in the industry.

To make the magazine and website informative and interesting, we request individuals and businesses associated with the remanufacturing, imaging and printing industry to contribute articles, news, technical write-ups or other allied content, which we can include in the magazine with an acknowledgment to the contributor.

Warm regards,
Recharge India
